Lotus Feet
Foot binding was a custom practiced on young girls and women for approximately one thousand years in China, beginning in the 10th century and ending in the first half of 20th century.
Foot-binding resulted in lifelong disabilities for most of its victims. As the practice waned in the early 20th century, "some girls' feet were released after initial binding, leaving less severe deformities," according to a study conducted by the University of California, San Francisco. However, some effects of foot-binding were permanent, especially if a girl's arches or toes had been broken or other drastic measures taken in order to achieve the desired smallness. In the 1990s and early 2000s, some elderly Chinese women still suffered from disabilities related to bound feet.

World's 4th Most Accident-Prone Country
If not for its smaller population, the Philippines could have been the world's second most accident-prone country after Iran. Because of its large population, China topped the accident list, with 97,783,301 of its citizens affected by accidents during the ten-year period. It was followed by India, which reported 46,060,125 victims during the period. Both China and India have a population of over 1 billion people. Iran was third in the list, with 6,416,570 victims. Behind the Philippines were Ethiopia, with 3,334,266 victims; and Pakistan, 2,732,032 victims. The global report by International Red Cross said 535,416 people were killed in natural disasters and 86,947 others in industrial, transport and other "technological disasters" worldwide from 1992 to 2001.
According to the Philippine Red Cross, 31,835 Filipinos were killed and 94,369,462 others were affected by natural disasters and calamities in a span of 20 years. "The Philippines was a natural laboratory for floods, typhoons, monsoon rains, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and landslides," Philippine National Red Cross governor Dante Liban said. Randomly..

We're the king and queen of hearts
Tell me when the music starts
all my dreams come true
when I dance with you...
Did I dream that we danced forever
in a wish that we made together
on a night that i prayed would never end. ohhh..
you know it's not my imagination
or a part of the orchestration
love was here at the coronation
I'm the king and you're the queen of hearts..
This was the song that went out of my mouth this morning during our computer class while doing an activity.
I don't know why I sang this song. Maybe there is a meaning that I need to figure out.
But I hope that time won't be now because I'm still busy. :-)

A Film to Remember

We are very lucky yesterday because... we didn't have afternoon classes.
Yehey!
There was this activity for all High School students together with grade 6 boys and girls yesterday which was the reason why most of us were in an excited mood.
We were invited to watch a film entitled the 13th day at SM city.
This film was mainly about the experience of the 3 kids- Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta wherein to these same persons our Lady of Fatima appeared to.
In my own perspective, they were lucky enough to have seen the image of virgin Mary and be an instrument of God's salvation..
Honestly, I envied these kids because of all people, why them?
After watchinf the said film, I came to realize that they were the chosen ones because it is in each of them that God have seen a perfect personality.
I am very lucky to have watched that particular movie because in the end it left a mark that could never be erased, I think so.
If I will only be like them- in time may, it may be now or tommorrow or even next year, an image will also appear to me if I but change my ways and follow their footsteps.
